Some of this goes back to the 1970's and early career. The underwater paintings were an attempt to ride the wave of popular fantasy sea-world art... with local landmarks!
This is San Mateo Reef, done in 1992. A futuristic fantasy of San Francisco area under water. Guache and acrylic. The lines for this were from an actual photo of the Hwy 101 overpass in San Mateo.
